About Bamboleira
Natalia Sánchez, an engineer from Santander, started Bamboleira in 2015 after a pair of earrings she made for herself became a hit with her friends. She named it for the life and movement she wanted jewelry to give an outfit.
She wanted a social purpose built in from the start and found it working with Wounaan women, part of an Indigenous community displaced from Colombia's Pacific coast to Bogotá, whose werregue weaving became the brand's signature.
