Minimalist leather bags with sculptural hardware and Italian materials, Polish craft meets quiet-luxury restraint.
Think: Polish quiet luxury

the sculptural-seal bag
Chylak makes leather bags with sculptural shapes and a collector's streak, from a scalloped shell to a gold seal, each one numbered by hand.
The leather comes from Italy, much of it plant-tanned, and the bags are sewn in small batches in Poland with wood-pulp viscose linings. Shape carries the design: a handbag scalloped like a seashell, structured flap bags closed with an antique-gold seal, python and croc patterns embossed on cowhide. Polish folk craft runs through it too, in beadwork, lace and amber, so the pieces feel closer to objects than to accessories.
Zofia Chylak studied art history and trained with a pattern-maker in New York before going home to Warsaw, where she launched Chylak in 2014. It won brand of the year at Poland's Elle Style Awards in 2015.
It began by selling only on its own site, with waitlists in the thousands, and became known for leather bags built like small sculptures, with a gold series number stamped by hand on every piece and a line rooted in Polish embroidery, weaving and amber.
From reviews and try-on videos, in our words.
The shoes, handmade in Italy since 2023, come with the brand's advice to go one size down if you're between sizes; each shoe page lists insole lengths in centimeters.
The python and croc finishes are patterns embossed on cowhide, not exotic skins, and the linings are wood-pulp viscose rather than cotton.
Bags are made in small batches, so popular colors show only a few left or switch to a waitlist. In its early years it sold only on its own site and built waitlists of more than 15,000.
US prices include duties and taxes. Orders leave Poland by DHL or DPD and take about 5 to 7 business days to arrive; the US delivery cost only shows at checkout.
You can return anything within 14 days, but from the US you pay the shipping back to Poland plus any customs charges, which come off your refund, and the brand sends customs paperwork to fill in.
