An abalone shell disc — genuine mother-of-pearl, roughly palm-sized — hangs on a waxed black cord with an adjustable knot closure, landing at mid-sternum. The surface refracts in concentric rings of silver, smoke, and sea-green depending on the light. A twisted silk tassel drops from the base, adding movement without softening the raw material quality of the shell.
