Jacquemus brings Provence into Paris fashion, with sunlit color, playful proportions and miniature leather bags that changed what a handbag could be.
The cuts stay simple and let proportion do the talking: cropped tops against long sleeves, oversized tailoring, dresses that tie, drape or open at unexpected points. The palette comes from the south, wheat, lavender, sun-bleached neutrals and deep Mediterranean blue. The leather bags are made in Italy and swing between extremes of scale, from pieces that barely hold a lipstick to roomy shoppers, which is why they read as objects as much as accessories.
Simon Porte Jacquemus grew up in a farming family in Mallemort, in southern France, and launched his label in Paris in 2009, aged 19, soon after his mother's sudden death. He gave the house her maiden name.
Self-taught, he built it around the light and color of Provence, simple cuts with odd proportions and bags at both ends of the size scale. He won LVMH's special jury prize in 2015 and added menswear in 2019.

Shoppers often find the clothes run small, and on some shoes the brand itself suggests going up a size if you're between two. Check the size guide's measurements before ordering.
The tiniest bags are more ornament than carryall: the micro Le Chiquito dangles from a finger and won't take a phone, and even the standard version is only about 4 by 2.5 inches.
Bags are made in Italy in leather, often calfskin; each product page lists the exact material.
US orders get free standard delivery, except during some special sales. The brand says it covers duties for most countries outside the EU, so confirm the US total at checkout.
