About Proenza Schouler
Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez met at Parsons in New York, and their joint senior thesis became the first Proenza Schouler collection in 2002. The name joins their mothers' maiden names.
The label won the first CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2004 and built its name on sculpted tailoring, textile experiments and a leather satchel that became its signature. The founders stepped back from design in 2025, and the house has carried on under new creative leadership.
