Materiel cuts tailoring with a Tbilisi edge: sharp, sculpted shoulders against draped, open-back dresses, strict and seductive at once.
The house plays structure against softness: coats with balloon shoulders and wide lapels, shirts with fixed cape shoulders, and silk dresses that drape at the front and open at the back. Most of it is made in its own Tbilisi factory, in organic silk, recycled wool and cotton, and its faux leather lets a trench or a pencil skirt go hard-edged without animal hide.

About Materiel
Materiel grew out of Fashion House Materia, a Tbilisi garment maker founded in 1949 that became one of the region's leading producers in post-Soviet years. In 2014 Maia Gogiberidze rebuilt it as Materiel, keeping the factory and its know-how.
She shaped it as an incubator where young Georgian designers could develop, around a house style of strict tailoring set against feminine shapes.
