Think: beaded maximalism with purpose

the hand-beaded clutch
Sarah's Bags turns Lebanese craft into joyful, hand-beaded evening bags, made by women artisans who include prisoners and former prisoners.
Every bag is worked by hand in Lebanon, with glass beads, embroidery or sequins stitched over jacquard and tapestry fabrics and a sculptural brass clasp on top, and a single piece takes hours. The motifs tell stories, from palm trees and pomegranates to Beirut street culture and pop references, which is why one clutch can carry a whole outfit.
Sarah Beydoun was finishing a sociology degree in Beirut, researching an NGO that helps women at risk and former prisoners, when she decided to build a business that would employ them. She launched it in 2000.
Its beading and embroidery are done by women in prison and in poorer communities across Lebanon, keeping traditional crafts alive on bold, playful designs that each tell a story.
From reviews and try-on videos, in our words.
Each bag lists its hours of handwork, often six to ten. Beaded pieces are delicate, so keep them in the cotton pouch they come in, away from humidity and rough surfaces.
Most bags pair a beaded or jacquard viscose front with a brass clasp and a faux suede lining, and many come with a detachable chain to switch from hand to shoulder.
Amal Clooney, Queen Rania of Jordan and Beyoncé have all been spotted carrying its bags. Pre-order pieces are made once you order and can take 10 working days or more before they ship.
Ships to the US by DHL, usually in 3 to 7 days, with shipping calculated at checkout. Prices exclude duties, so US buyers pay import duties and taxes on delivery.
Returns and refunds are accepted within 7 days, but you pay the return shipping and the customs duties charged on arrival in Lebanon. Customized pieces are final sale.
Sarah's Bag doesn't list fiber content, like “100% silk”, on most of its product pages, so we can't say what its pieces are made of. We checked 83 pieces in October 2026.
