Silk habotai this light has a fluid drop that stiffens into a proper wide-leg column at floor length — the vertical stripe print, with its deliberately wavy, hand-drawn edges, does more visual work than a straight yarn ever could. An elasticated high waist and on-seam pockets keep the construction relaxed while the floor-length sweep and color intensity push it firmly into occasion territory. The vermillion, black, white, and pale yellow stripe groupings shift rhythm as the leg moves, so the trousers read differently standing still than in motion.
