About Freda Salvador
Cristina Palomo Nelson and Megan Papay, best friends who met at work, founded Freda Salvador in 2012. Cristina is a third-generation shoemaker whose grandfather opened a shoe factory in El Salvador, the place she grew up sketching designs.
Megan brought a stylist's eye from years dressing celebrities for the red carpet. Together they built a San Francisco label known for familiar shapes reworked in its own details, from notched welts to hand-woven leather.
