About Malina
Malin Ek Andrén founded Malina in Stockholm in 2010, after four years working in clothing production in China. Back home, she couldn't find formal dresses she liked for her friends' weddings, so she had her own made in silk with big prints.
Those formal silk maxis made the label’s name in Sweden, and a grandmother from Greece gave the designer a taste for Mediterranean color. Long known as By Malina, it took its shorter name as it grew beyond Sweden.
