Yellow The Label makes playful, retro-leaning clothes built on texture, fringe and art, with a sculptural jacket or two that carries the whole outfit.
Each piece starts from a novelty idea, a fringe dress beaded by hand, a set in crinkled bubble-textured fabric, an embossed faux-ostrich jacket with billowing sleeves, and lets color and texture do the work instead of logos. Much of the clothing is linen, cotton or silk, the beaded pieces are hand-worked by artisans in India, and the swimwear is made in Italy, mostly from recycled fabric.
Mary Katherine and Justin Black founded Yellow in 2019 as a husband-and-wife team working out of a California garage, and the business later settled in Florida.
The name borrows the brightest color in the spectrum, and the label built its following on clothes that mix novelty, art and retro references, from fringe and beading to embossed jackets and swim.
From reviews and try-on videos, in our words.
Fit depends on the piece: many knits and jackets are cut oversized and boxy, and product pages flag the exceptions, like a non-stretch dress that runs small or jeans that run large.
The faux-ostrich jackets, like the Olsen and the Oliver, are embossed vegan PU with structured, billowing sleeves and a tailored waist. They read as leather but contain none.
Beaded fringe pieces like the Kyla dress are hand-beaded by artisans in India. The swimwear is made entirely in Italy: fabric from a mill in the north, sewing at a small women-owned factory in the south.
Orders ship from its Florida warehouse within one to two business days, and US shipping is free on orders of $200 or more. Sold-out favorites often come back as pre-orders, with the ship date in the description.
Full-price clothing can be returned within 14 days. US refunds carry a $14.99 restocking fee, waived if you take an exchange or store credit, and sale pieces and accessories are final.
