Ruadh makes denim with a tailor's eye: rigid jeans and sculpted jackets, finished by hand, from a designer who has spent her career on jeans.
Most jeans are cut from rigid denim, heavyweight Japanese or regenerative and recycled cotton, that starts firm and softens with wear, made in the US and finished by hand. Gold-finish hardware gives them a jewelry-like detail, triple belt loops sit at the back waist, and the jackets go sculptural, with full sleeves and a shaped waist. Scottish cashmere knits round out the wardrobe.
Nothing from Ruadh is on the site at the moment. We watch their sales — when one lands it shows up in Drops.
Jac Cameron, who grew up on a farm in rural Scotland, launched Ruadh in New York in 2024 after two decades designing denim. The name is Scottish Gaelic for red.
She set out to make small-batch denim with real craft, and the label became known for rigid high-rise jeans and sculptural jackets, with Scotland running through its cashmere knits, tartans and campaigns.
From reviews and try-on videos, in our words.
Most fits run true to size. The straight-leg Quinn is cut with ease, so size down for a closer fit; the stretch Kerr runs small, so size up. Some jeans come in two inseams.
The rigid denim has no stretch and feels firm at first, then softens and molds to you with wear. Parts of each wash are done by hand.
The brand calls the Quinn straight-leg jean its icon and a bestseller, and the Constance denim jacket, with its full sleeves, is a best seller too.
