The label made its name with a leather top-handle bag crowned by a life-size resin chocolate-chip cookie, a joke executed seriously enough to become its signature. About Puppets & Puppets
Artist Carly Mark started Puppets and Puppets in New York with Ayla Argentina, naming it after her dog, Puppet. Its first shows were costume-like portraits of the city's downtown scene, and a leather bag topped with a resin cookie became its breakout.
Mark went on to run the label alone, and in 2024 she stopped making clothes to focus on bags and moved the label to London.
