About Alémais
Australian designer Lesleigh Jermanus, a fine-arts graduate with a long career designing in fashion, launched Alémais in 2021 as a Sydney label.
Drawing on her heritage, she built it around optimistic prints, patchwork and embroidery, plant-based fabrics and close work with artists and artisans, and it became known for printed linen and silk dresses that suit both holidays and dressed-up evenings.

- Fit
Sizes run AU/UK 4 to 16 (US 0 to 12). Each product page says how the piece is cut, fitted, regular, relaxed or oversized, with advice to size up or down, plus garment measurements taken by hand.
- Fabric and care
Most pieces are cotton, European linen or silk, with ramie and hemp in some; much of the cotton is organic and synthetics are a small share. Many pieces call for a cold hand wash.
- Shipping
US orders ship free by UPS ground from a warehouse in Georgia, in about 2 to 5 business days, with duties included. A piece not stocked there ships from abroad by DHL, still free and duty-paid.
- Returns
Full-price pieces can be returned for a refund within 21 days of delivery, less a $10 return label fee. Sale pieces get store credit or an exchange only, Final Sale and Last Chance pieces can't come back, and made-to-order pieces refund to a gift card.
- Craft
Many collections include artisan-made pieces with hand embroidery or bead-embellished patches, and some prints are artworks made with guest artists. The jewellery is handmade in Indonesia.
