About Aquazzura
Colombian-born designer Edgardo Osorio launched Aquazzura in Florence in 2011 with his partner Ricardo D’Almeida Figueiredo, after a decade designing shoes for other fashion houses. The name nods to the clear blue water around Capri.
The idea came from weddings, where women kept kicking off their shoes to dance, so Osorio set out to make heels worth leaving on. A cut-out suede bootie made the label's name, and fringed sandals and lace-up flats followed.
