About Courrèges
André Courrèges left Balenciaga, where he had been the couturier's top assistant, and opened his own Paris house in 1961 with Coqueline Courrèges, his partner in the atelier and later his wife.
His 1964 collection brought vinyl onto the runway and became one of the defining looks of 60s Space Age style, a vocabulary of white, shine and short geometric shapes the house keeps returning to.
