Grace Ling makes sculptural, body-conscious clothes and surreal metal-trimmed bags that feel like wearable art, cut with real tailoring discipline.
Each design starts as a 3D model, so the studio can work out how much material a piece needs and waste almost none of it. That precision shows in silk bias dresses, wool tailoring and stretch-jersey pieces cinched with sculpted steel claws, teeth and vertebrae, and in bags with blade-like metal handles or shapes taken from the body. Many pieces are made in New York, and the clothes stay wearable: the hardware carries the wit.
Nothing from Grace Ling is on the site at the moment. We watch their sales — when one lands it shows up in Drops.
Grace Ling grew up in Singapore and studied sculpture and performance art before turning to fashion, which she studied at Parsons in New York and Central Saint Martins in London.
She founded her label in New York in 2020, building it on 3D printing and CGI, and became known for sculptural silhouettes and 3D-printed metal pieces that turn parts of the body into ornament.
From reviews and try-on videos, in our words.
Ready-to-wear follows one chart from XXS to XXL, which the brand maps to US 0 to 12. The jersey styles trimmed with steel claws are high-stretch and suit a range of bodies; we found no shopper fit reviews.
A lot of the line sells out and comes back as pre-orders, so a sold-out piece may return. The brand counts Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian and Karlie Kloss among the people who have worn it.
Shipping is free across the US in 2 to 4 business days, with next-day delivery available. Abroad it's free over $1000 by DHL Express, and the brand says orders arrive with taxes and duties prepaid.
Returns must be requested within 7 days of delivery and carry a 6% restocking fee plus a $25 return shipping charge. Pre-orders and custom pieces are final, and anything worn to a shoot or event counts as used.
Keep the metal away from perfume, cosmetics, chlorine and moisture, wipe it gently with a polishing cloth, and store pieces somewhere cool and dry.
Works most in: wool, silk and viscose
Grace Ling lists the fabric on about 41% of its pieces, so this is a partial read.
