Marques' Almeida turns frayed, raw-edged denim into real design, then carries the same undone ease into draped tops, silks and knits.
Denim is the root: wide, slouchy jeans with raw hems, cut to sit high on the waist or slung low, much of it in organic or recycled cotton. Around it the label builds draped tops, shirting, brocade and mikado eveningwear and soft merino knits, all with the same slightly unfinished edge. The pieces are made in Portugal, and each is cut on purpose to be oversized, fitted or somewhere in between.

About Marques' Almeida
Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida met at fashion school in Portugal, then studied at Central Saint Martins in London, where they launched Marques' Almeida in 2011. Their frayed denim helped bring distressed jeans back, and in 2015 they won LVMH's prize for young designers.
During the pandemic the couple moved the label home to Porto. Sustainability became part of the brand too, with a published manifesto, an upcycled line and a kids' range.
